JAPANESE PAPER PLACE KONNYAKU STARCH This starch has been used In Japan for centuries to coat papers to make them stronger and more flexible, especially for use in the making of kamiko paper clothing. Momigami (kneaded paper) or kyoseishi (strong paper) are both kozo washi papers which have been treated with konnyaku starch, making them more wind and water resistant as well as having improved heat retention while still remaining breathable. As a lining for clothing, momigami has often outlasted the textile which it lines. Make your own momigami with this starch powder mixed with water. 50g package; makes from 2 to 10 litres of starch solution, depending on desired dilution. Share this with a Friend
